World Shine Ministries believes that true Education is not merely passing on knowledge but imparting true wisdom through drawing individuals into a relationship with Jesus Christ, because all knowledge, understanding, and wisdom are hidden in Him. True education instills in its learners the fear of God (which is the beginning of wisdom), and invites them into a personal knowledge of the Holy One (which is understanding).
We invest in children throughout their education, whether they live on site with us or walk to our schools each day. Hundreds of students are enrolled in our primary school.
Through our Sponsorship Program and scholarship fund, our students are then helped to go on to further training (university, trade schools, etc) in schools and universities across Uganda.
World Shine Foundation School
World Shine Foundation School opened and operated in 2005. Unlike many schools in Uganda, our students do pay a small commitment fees. And students are given everything they need to succeed: textbooks, uniforms, shoes, three meals every school day, medicine, and scholastic materials.
World Shine Ministries is committed to making education (and in certain instances, Christian education) available to children in our community.
Through partnership with other organisation, funding for children who would not otherwise be able to attend school.
It is our dream that education will help break cycles of poverty in communities thereby providing hope for a better future.
Secondary education
Once a student is admitted into World Shine Ministries education program, they are guaranteed support to achieve their academic goals. This looks different for each student. Some may go on to secondary school and university.
Others choose to learn a trade through a vocational program. At World Shine Vocational School, we train students in tailoring, and computer science.
World Shine Ministries is hoping that come next year it will open doors to a secondary school that will help our children continue with true education that forms values, beliefs, and culture.
Tertiary Education
After secondary school, students are supported in their tertiary or higher education goals.
And as students prepare to graduate, World Shine Ministries conducts workshops to help them transition — equipping them with life skills and preparing them for the job market.
The world of academia and the truths found in the Bible are not meant to be two separate spheres. Therefore, our classrooms, just like the rest of our programs, provide an opportunity to train and equip our children in Biblical truth and academic excellence.
